I had the biggest opportunity to direct a music video for French pop band la lune brille's single for their new album coming out in September. They take their job seriously but love what they do which is why I love working with them that and it always involves me flying to Paris to meet with them since they are a 'French' pop band who are strictly located in France and though their popularity is increasing in the states they kept a promise to themselves to stay in their home country. I got to fly there with Hannah, who is now my assistant which is really just a poor excuse for me to be able to bring her with me on business opportunities like this where we get to travel & get out of New York. I don't really need an assistant but since I hate traveling alone in situations like this I just say that I'm going to need an extra ticket for my assistant and then she'd take on that role for however long is necessary but Hannah actually works for a modeling agency that her father owns and works as a scout agent who also helps hire models for different photo shoots, shows, etc. saying that you can go ahead and say that she comes from a wealthy family, which is true.
Being in Paris meant also being able to visit my family while I was there for two weeks, most of the time I would be filming & directing but there was a 2 day gap where nothing was planned which happened to be the first weekend including Monday we were there after our flight from New York on Friday night. Hannah got to meet all of my family, taste my mom's amazing French cooking which I miss so much & hear all of my dad's stories about me as a younging and how proud they are of me and where I am in life, but they keep asking if I have a boyfriend and every-time are disappointed that I say no. I guess soon i'll have to focus on my personal life than my work life but i'm not ready for that just yet.
After those 3 days, I kissed & hugged them all good bye and met la lune brille at their shared apartment where we discussed their ideas and went over all of the details. Planning was a huge part for it since their idea wasn't so simple, they had this idea where they wanted to be in the center & then at the climax of the song the room would flood with people dancing. Instead of hiring I decided with their permission to allow their fans to come and have the experience of working with the band since the task was pretty simple. 120 people showed up that day & besides that one part it was all a piece of cake.
When we wrapped we celebrated by going out for dinner and drinks, the bands treat. "You did a brilliant job." Jacque said in French as he whispered in my ear as we took up the whole section of the restaurant as we did have 7 people. "Thank you so much. I had fun." "I'd love to hang out again sometime." This time he spoke in mildly accented English. "I would too but I fly to New York after tomorrow." He was cute, he had blue eyes, brown hair and a mustache which seemed to be the finishing touch on his beautiful face. I never looked at him like that but I didn't know yet if he wanted to talk more business or what. "Well we can hang out tomorrow then, yes?" He asked politely, "Sure." When I told Hannah after the dinner she automatically thought he had hopes of courting me. I told her not just yet but she kept going on and on and on...
